Inviting Submissions for the Lipton Essay Award

Deadline Monday, May 9

We are currently inviting submissions for the Lipton Essay Award, which is given for an essay at least 10 double-spaced pages in length on a topic in the field of Jewish studies. We offer two Lipton Essay Awards each year, one at the undergraduate level and one at the graduate level. To apply, please complete the application form together with the essay you are submitting and request a recommendation from a faculty member. These materials should be sent to cjsscholarships@cjs.wisc.edu.

For more information about the application process, please e-mail cjsscholarships@cjs.wisc.edu.

Through the generosity of our donors, the Mosse/Weinstein Center offers a number of scholarships, fellowships, and awards for UW–Madison students in Jewish studies. Funding opportunities fall into two categories:

Achievement awards to recognize excellence in scholarship

Awards to support study or research

The latter category includes the Laurence A. Weinstein Distinguished Graduate Fellowship and the Joint Scholarship in Afro-American and Jewish Studies, both of which have their own application processes and deadlines.

To apply, click on the appropriate link(s) above.

For more information about the application process, please e-mail cjsscholarships@cjs.wisc.edu.

Please note that receiving an award may affect your financial aid package. To learn more, contact the UW-Madison Office of Financial Aid at finaid@finaid.wisc.edu.
