Scholarships & Awards

We are now accepting applications for our Fall 2026 scholarship competition,
which features awards supporting study and research in Jewish Studies.

Deadline for most Study & Research Awards: Nov. 2
Deadline for the Joint Scholarship in African American and Jewish Studies: Nov. 9

Through the generosity of our donors, the Mosse/Weinstein Center offers a number of scholarships, fellowships, and awards for UW–Madison students in Jewish studies. Funding opportunities fall into two main categories:

Achievement awards to recognize excellence in scholarship

Awards to support study or research

The latter category includes the Maimonides Scholarship by James and Margaret Wiviott, the Joint Scholarship in African American and Jewish Studies, and the Laurence A. Weinstein Distinguished Graduate Fellowship, each of which has its own application processes and deadlines.

Please note that receiving an award may affect your financial aid package. To learn more, contact the UW-Madison Office of Financial Aid at finaid@finaid.wisc.edu. Scholarship payments are made to students’ tuition accounts or paid via UW payroll, depending on residency status.
