CJS mourns the recent loss of Harvey M. Meyerhoff (BBA ‘48), an alumnus of UW-Madison and a founding member of the CJS Board of Visitors. Meyerhoff passed away on August 6 at the age of 96.
At UW, Meyerhoff established and endowed the Harvey M. Meyerhoff Professor of Israel Studies in Jewish Studies. In later years, he went on to chair the governing council of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, a position appointed by President Reagan. As chair, he oversaw the completion and opening of the museum in 1993.
