CJS mourns the loss and celebrates the life of Roslyn Greenfield, a longtime CJS supporter and co-founder, with husband Larry Greenfield, of the Greenfield Summer Institute.
Ros passed away peacefully on the morning of June 17. She was 90 years old.
Born in Montreal Canada, she moved to New York at age 26, and worked as a physical therapist in both hospital and private practice. She married Herbert W. Greenberg, with whom she had a beautiful marriage that produced their son, Jamie. Widowed in 1981, she remarried in 1993 to Lawrence Greenfield, with whom she had a second wonderful marriage, until Larry’s sad passing in 2003.
Roslyn is survived by her son, Jamie, step-children, Lauren, Lisa, and Peter, sisters in law, nieces, nephews, and a wide circle of beloved friends.
Services will be held at 11am on Tuesday, June 24th at Congregation Rodeph Sholomm (7 West 83rd Street, Schnurmacher Chapel, 6th Floor) followed by interment at Union Field Cemetery (82-11 Cypress Avenue, Ridgewood). Shiva will be observed at 6pm at 425 E 58th Street, Apt 35E.
