As Senior Director of Development at the Wisconsin Foundation and Alumni Association (WFAA), Rebekah Sherman advocates for the mission of the Mosse/Weinstein Center for Jewish Studies and promotes the Center’s priorities for advancement, including the creation of named professorships, graduate fellowships, and student scholarships.
Rebekah graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1999 with a B.A. in International Relations and a certificate in Jewish Studies, having spent her junior year at the Rothberg International School of the Hebrew University, where she focused on Area Studies of the Middle East and passed the fluency level in Hebrew. Rebekah lived for several years in Jerusalem between 2000-2007 and worked for the American Colony as an advisor to the owner in creating a memoir of the colony’s history.
Having received scholarships as a student, Rebekah deeply appreciates the impact of investing in students’ education, as she credits her experience at UW-Madison and Hebrew University to guiding her career choices, and often recalls that “a year can change your life.”
