David Harrisville is an independent scholar specializing in the history of modern Germany, the Third Reich, the Holocaust, and the Second World War. He received his PhD in History from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2017, where he also held several academic posts. He has been awarded numerous fellowships, including at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and the Free University of Berlin. He served as Visiting Assistant Professor of History at Furman University from 2018-19, worked as a Learning Designer at Brown University, and currently works in the Institute for Excellence in Teaching and Learning at Boston University. His book, The Virtuous Wehrmacht: Crafting the Myth of the German Soldier on the Eastern Front, 1941-1944, was published in 2021 by Cornell University Press.
