Sarah Denne is a PhD candidate in Religious Studies at the University of Virginia with research interests in modern philosophy of religion, aesthetics, and evil. Her dissertation is about aesthetics and the formation of modern Jewish thought in Germany. She has previously written on topics such as mysticism in contemporary Latin American literature, comedy in Hegel’s philosophy of religion, and the relationship between aesthetics and ethics. Before coming to UVA, she graduated with an MA from the University of Chicago Divinity School.
