25th Annual Greenfield Summer Institute
“Jews and Popular Culture”
July 14-17, 2025
Whether walking on the cobblestone streets of ancient Rome or the fake cobblestones of a modern Hollywood movie set, Jews have interacted with popular culture for thousands of years. At this year’s Greenfield Summer Institute, we will consider some of the many opportunities, problems, and questions inspired by these interactions. From music to marketing, making films to remaking Florida, join us as speakers from various fields gather in Madison to explore how different Jews and Jewish communities affected, and were affected by, popular culture. You can view the full schedule of events here.
In a change from past years, the Institute will take place at the Wisconsin Institute for Discovery Building, located just a few block west of Grainger Hall (last year’s venue).
